1. JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard)
JIS covers industrial and mineral products with the exception of (1) medicines, (2) agricultural chemicals, (3) chemical fertilizers, (4) silk yarn, and (5) foodstuffs, agricultural and forest products designated under the Law Concerning Standardization and Proper Labeling of Agricultural and Forestry Products.

2. @PSE (Product Safety Electrical Appliance and Materials)
For imported electrical appliances, it is the importers which have the obligation to secure the conformity of electrical appliances to the mandatory technical requirements, and which have the right to attach the PSE marks including the name of the importer, once their conformity to the mandatory technical requirements is confirmed.

3. Parameter sheet
A list of the technical data which is not related to any restriction subject to Export Regulation or Military End-Use Control.
Most of electric items are required this document at export customs clearance.

4. Electricity in Japan
The voltage in Japan is 100 Volt.
The frequency of electric current is varied by region.
50 Hertz in Eastern Japan: including Tokyo, Yokohama, Yokosuka, Atsugi, Misawa, Tohoku, Hokkaido
60 Hertz in Western Japan: including Nagoya, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Iwakuni, Sasebo, Shikoku, Kyushu, Okinawa
5. Paper Size
ISO standard A4 (210 x 297mm) is mostly used.
6. Road
If you want to bring a large car in Japan, especially US trucks, just forget it. It is very difficult to find parking space and roadway is very narrow.
Japan Highway System: 3.5 meter (some area 3.25 meter) Lane width
US Interstate Highway System: 3.7 meter Lane width.
Same as UK and Australia, we drive the left side of the road.
